Former Packers coach Mike McCarthy has been hired by the Dallas Cowboys just two days after he interviewed for the team’s head coaching position.
He replaces Jason Garrett, who was fired after an 8-and-8 season.
McCarthy is a proven winner, taking Green Bay to the postseason nine times in his 13 years there, amassing a record of 125-77-2.
McCarthy’s Packers played in the N-F-C championship game four times, and only missed the playoffs four times.
Dallas fan may remember McCarthy as the coach who threw the challenge flag on the controversial Dez Bryant non-catch in the 2014 Divisional Round matchup.
