The Brewers’ decision to go with their young starters is looking a little better while Freddy Peralta dominates winter baseball.
Playing for Toros de Este in the Dominican Winter League, Peralta has allowed only six hits in 20 innings, striking out 34 and walking just three.
He was inconsistent as a rookie and is said to be working on developing his curveball as a second pitch.
Peralta averaged more than 12 strikeouts per nine innings in his first season, but recorded a weak 5.29 earned run average.
