The timing isn’t the best for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Just as they were preparing to open their Big Ten Conference season, starting forward Kyle Young has been sidelined after having his appendix removed.
Teammates say Young vomited several times before grabbing a dozen rebounds in O-S-U’s 67-59 loss to West Virginia last Sunday.
He is fourth on the team with eight-point-three points-a-game and second with six-point-eight rebounds-a-game.
It’s possible that one of Young’s replacements, freshman Alonzo Gaffney, won’t be able to go either — due to a flu-like illness.
