Something to keep in mind when we do finally receive some snow again, according to city of Manitowoc Director of Public Infrastructure, Dan Koski, the nightly Winter Parking Ban has changed for the 2019/’20 snow season.
Koski said if snow is in the forecast, Mayor Nickels may call a Winter Parking Ban by 4 PM to take effect the following morning between 1-6 AM.
When the Ban is in effect, vehicles parked illegally on salt routes including bus & truck routes, arterial streets, State Highways and County Trunks will receive a ticket.
City-wide Snow Emergencies will continue to be called by the Mayor as needed when a general plow of the entire city is imminent.
Violations of the winter parking ban will result in a fine of $50.00, while those violating the emergency parking announcement face a $75.00 fine.
