There is a challenge to a proposed Wisconsin law that would give crime victims more rights.
The Wisconsin Justice Initiative last week filed a lawsuit to challenge Marsy’s Law. The proposal would require courts and judges to include victims when sentencing and dealing with suspects and convicted criminals.
The Justice Initiative says Marsy’s Law would give victims new rights that step on the constitutional rights of the people convicted of crimes.
Marsy’s Law is supposed to go before voters in April.
