The Milwaukee County medical examiner says a 61-year-old man found dead in his home Wednesday had been lighting fires inside containers to stay warm.
His electrical service had been turned off.
An autopsy will be conducted today (Thursday) to determine an exact cause of death, but it is believed he was the victim of carbon monoxide poisoning or hypothermia.
The man’s name hasn’t been released.
He died on a night the temperatures dropped into the single digits.
