The 22-year-old driver accused of killing three Girl Scouts and a mother of one of the girls last year has changed his plea.
Colten Treu had pleaded not guilty to nine charges, including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, last May — but now he is pleading no contest.
He will be sentenced next year and, since four of the five charges remaining carry a maximum sentence of 40 years each, Treu could spend the rest of his life in prison.
The Chippewa County District judge has ordered a pre-sentence investigation report to be filed by February 21st and Treu will be sentenced in March.
