The Manitowoc County Historical Society is pleased to announce Emily Shedal as the museum’s Program Coordinator.
“We are looking forward to having Emily lead our museum’s youth and public program,” said Amy Meyer, Manitowoc County Historical Society Executive Director.
Emily was a past intern at the Historical Society and assisted in the museum’s archives and data entry. It was with Emily’s cooperation and efforts that the museum’s first digital collection launched in December, 2018 with the Daryl Cornick Collection. She was a past recipient of the Dillon Mueller Youth Service Award, part of the Society’s annual History Maker’s awards.
Emily graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay in May, 2019 with a Bachelors’s degree in History and Humanistic Studies with an emphasis on digital and public humanities. Emily has also worked at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Archives and Area Research Center, Neville Public Museum, and the Wisconsin Maritime Museum.
As the Historical Society’s Program Coordinator, Emily will build upon the first-rate youth and public education programs at the museum and work to create a variety of hands-on, hands-in programs for guests.
“I look forward to working with the volunteers, staff, and community supporters to create an exciting new chapter in MCHS’ development.” said Emily.
