If you were watching the Packer game last Sunday, you may have seen Za’Darius Smith lift his jersey to showcase and undershirt which read “We Heart Eileen”, and wondered, “Who is Eileen?”
Well, Eileen Brooker is the mother of an employee of the Packer organization, who is battling an incurable form of bone marrow cancer.
Ben Brooker told reporters that he actually designed the shirt, and gave it to Smith, who has been emotionally supporting him through his mother’s battle with cancer.
Smith told reporters that “I talked to him and I was like we should do something for it.”
When it actually happened, Ben said his mother was in tears, as she not only knew it was for her, but recognized her son’s penmanship.
Eileen said “I can’t even express my thanks for that. It was something that is immeasurable.”
