On the day that two students were shot to death at a California high school – and the day after a student’s “hit list” was found in Shorewood – South Milwaukee police have taken a 15-year-old student into custody for writing his own hit list .
The student’s name hasn’t been released and an investigation found it was a misunderstanding and there was “no credible threat.”
Superintendent Doctor Jeff Weiss says this is a teachable moment, adding that making a hit list isn’t funny and isn’t a way to get attention. Weiss wants parents to talk to their children and help them understand the consequences of such actions.
The 15-year-old will be charged with disorderly conduct and he could be expelled.
