Varsity and Jayvee members of the 2019 Manitowoc Lincoln High School Football team were honored last night during a post-season banquet at Knox’s Silver Valley Banquet Hall.
Shipbuilders’ head coach Greg Enz announced team & special awards including: Offensive Player of the Year Davis Heinzen, Defensive Player of the Year John Meyers, Special Teams Player of the Year Will Maples, the newly-named Don Davey Lineman of the Year Tanner Wigand, and Most Improved Angel Ramirez.
Four Memorial presentations were made. Antonio Bustamante’ received the Dave Dorak Award, Onyx Perez-Bailey & Brysen Roulette share the Randy Merza honor, Alex Braun got the award named after Erik Zimmerman and the John Dixon Memorial was presented to Garrett Holsen by Dixon’s youngest son, Drew.
FRCC all-conference picks were made public: Tanner Wigand, Davis Heinzen & John Meyers were selected to the first-team, while Brett Prange & Will Maples made Honorable Mention.
Five senior Shipbuilders were chosen to the Academic All-State Football team: Heinzen, Holsen, Josh Hoffman, Chandler Holschbach & Aaron Peterson for having a 3.75 GPA or better.
