A 22 year old man from Oostburg is facing charges after he allegedly threatened to bring a gun to a school .
Aaron Mauer was taken into custody after he posted a photo on social media which showed him carrying an AR-15 with the caption “coming to a school near you”. A friend of Mauer reportedly saw the post, and reported it to police.
When officers searched Mauer’s home, they found a multitude of firearms and ammunition, but Mauer claims the post was only a joke, and that the gun went with his Halloween costume.
Mauer is facing a charge of making a terrorist threat, and will be in court today for his preliminary hearing.
