Milwaukee Brewers centerfielder Lorenzo Cain has won his first Gold Glove award in his 10th major league season. The 33-year-old had 20 Defense Runs Saved in the 2019 season. He was chosen over two much-younger players – Washington’s Victor Robles and the Cardinals’ Harrison Bader. Cain says he had given up on the thought he would ever win the fielding honor after being bypassed last season. He ended this season with five home run-saving catches, trying for the most since the tracking that stat starting in 2004.
