Online reports name Milwaukee Brewers bench coach Pat Murphy as a contender for the challenging position of managing the Mets. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic joins several columnists saying Murphy has a good shot at the job. He’s managed before – in the college ranks – leading Notre Dame and Arizona State to nearly 950 victories. He also led the San Diego Padres for a half-season in 2015 after Bud Black was fired.
