Almost 250 legal and political experts have signed a letter to Wisconsin’s governor asking him to grant clemency to convicted killer Brendan Dassey.
The people who signed the letter say they believe Dassey was wrongfully convicted in the death of Teresa Halbach and they question the reliability of his confession. They say after serving 13 years in prison, “it is time to bring Brendan Dassey home.”
Governor Tony Evers has granted clemency to four convicted felons since he took office – becoming the first Wisconsin governor to do that since 2010.
