Brown County Crash Victims Identified

The names of the two men involved in a fatal crash involving a small plane and a pickup truck in Brown County have been released. The Sheriff’s Office says the pilot of the plane was John Fiddelke of De Pere and the pickup truck driver was identified as Patrick Schounard of Greenleaf. Fiddelke was attempting to land at a private airfield on County Highway MM in the Town of Ledgeview late Thursday afternoon when it collided with the truck driven by Schounard on Dutchman Road just west of Hidden Valley Lane. Fiddelke was pronounced dead at the scene while Schounard was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The Brown County Sheriff’s Crash Reconstruction Unit-The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are collaborating in the investigation.
