One person died and another sustained life-threatening injuries late yesterday afternoon as the result of a crash between a single engine plane & a pickup truck in Brown County.
Lieutenant Scott Vande Voort of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office says the airplane, piloted by an area Ledgeview man, was attempting to land at a private airfield when it collided with the truck on Dutchman Road, just west of Hidden Valley Lane.
The pilot of the plane was pronounced dead at the scene in the Town of Ledgeview shortly before 5pm. The other driver, a man from the Greenleaf area, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Names of those involved are being withheld, pending notification of relatives. Lieutenant Vande Voort said the Brown County Sheriff’s Crash Reconstruction Unit was on scene, and the FAA & NTSB will be responding to investigate.
