Speculation centers on a possible run for governor in 2022 after former Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch quit her job. She served eight years under former Governor Scott Walker. Kleefisch became executive director of the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission in Washington, D-C, in January. That commission is involved in planning activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary next year of women getting the right to vote. Kleefisch says she wants to be closer to her home and family in Wisconsin.
Friends, I gave my notice and resigned from my post directing the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission.

It’s not that I didn’t love the history. I do. It’s not that I didn’t love my wonderful staff. I do! My family just can’t handle how much I’m gone to DC.
