A subpar offensive season seems to have ended the time in Milwaukee for Brewers utility man Hernan Perez. The fan-favorite was designated for assignment again Wednesday. Why? Cory Spangenberg outplayed Perez in the late-going and can fill-in at all of the positions Perez could. Spangenberg is also projected to get a lower salary in arbitration. Finally, the move gives the team some flexibility with an open spot on the 40-man roster as it considers trades and free-agent signings.
