When the number-one-ranked Wisconsin women’s hockey team takes on Long Island University tonight (Friday) and Saturday, Badger players will be skating inside a legendary building. The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum was the home of the N-H-L New York Islanders from 1972-to-2015. When Princeton had to back out of its scheduled meeting with Wisconsin, the L-I-U series was quickly set up. Badgers coach Mark Johnson played against the powerful Islanders dynasty in the early 1980s.
