Supporters of three teenagers sentenced to jail for a sexual assault say their punishment is too severe for the crime. Friends and family members rallied at Beloit’s Riverside Park Saturday morning. Tre’roryon Floyd, Mar’kai Payne and Brandon Perry were found guilty of the March 2018 sexual assault of a classmate. Payne and Perry are serving one-year jail sentences and Floyd was given five years because he committed an armed robbery while he was free on bail. Those attending the weekend rally say what the three did was wrong, but they believe they got more severe punishments because they are African-American.
