The Brown County Sheriff’s Office has taken two people into custody for their involvement in an identity theft and check fraud case. A number of counterfeit checks had been passed at numerous businesses throughout Brown County back in August, prompting the investigation. Both of the unnamed suspects have been linked to additional fraud in Northern Illinois and Milwaukee area. Although two suspects have been taken into custody, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office is still accepting any information the public may have in regards to the case.
