A Manitowoc man was arrested yesterday morning after he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. 43-year-old James R. Nelson was walking in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Washington Street shortly after 5:00 a.m. when he was spotted by police. He was known to have a warrant out for his arrest, so officers made contact with him.
Nelson admitted to the officers that he had used meth recently, and was found to be in possession of a number of syringes, methamphetamine, a digital scale, other items of drug paraphernalia, and a 3.5-inch folding knife.
Nelson was then taken into the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, a Schedule 2 drug, drug paraphernalia, and a concealed knife by a felon.
