
A longtime radio broadcaster, who spent time on the air at WOMT 1240 AM in Manitowoc, has died at the age of 78. Shawn Mulhern passed-away recently in Green Bay. Mulhern had spent decades on the radio including stops in Green Bay, Milwaukee, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Costa Rica, and the Caribbean.
The native of Milwaukee and a graduate of Messmer High School while an ardent Packer-backer for 66 years, served as the last NFL Public Announcer, on the field, for the Bears at Wrigley and Soldier Fields in Chicago between 1966 and 1973. He had strong ties to father Michael Shea and The Children of Sarnelli House in Thailand.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere with a visitation for family and friends of Shawn Mulhern taking place from 9-10:45.
