It’s no secret that the Theresa Halbach murder case made headlines all over the United States, but the recent development involving Brendan Dassey asking for clemency from Governor Tony Evers resonated with one celebrity.
Kim Kardashian West, from Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and wife of famed rapper Kanye West went to Twitter to urge Governor Evers to read the letter Dassey’s legal team sent him. As of this morning, over 5,400 people liked the tweet. Prior to that tweet, she also linked out to an interview Dassey did on the Wrongful Conviction podcast.
Dassey is currently serving a life sentence for the 2005 murder, along with his Uncle Steven Avery. The defense claims that the prosecution tricked Dassey into confessing to the murder.
