Manitowoc Lincoln will celebrate Homecoming this weekend with several community events spanning Friday night and Saturday.
Dave Nickels, Race Director for the 11th annual Rubick Run tells SeehaferNews.com, the 5K has been shifted from Saturday morning to a new time. “This year we decided to try it out on Friday night,” he explained. “The homecoming parade will take place at 6:00, and then shortly after the parade is finished at 7:00, we’re gonna have our 5K run on the same course the parade took.”
As for switching to a night time event Nickels said that they are making a part of it a glow run. “We are gonna give people different types of lighted instruments that they can carry along as they are running, or walking.”
The Rubick Glow Run begins with a shotgun start at the front entrance of Ron Rubick Athletic Field tomorrow night. While early online registration ended last night…you can still sign-up for the event this evening and tomorrow from 4-7pm at Rubick Field.
The entry fee is $25.00 and proceeds go to the Lincoln Foundation to supply items outside the school’s athletic budget. Along with the Homecoming Parade and Rubick Glow Run there’s also an LHS Tailgate Party on-site between 6:30 to 10pm. The football game against De Pere is Saturday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock.
