The 11th annual Rubick Glow Run/Walk honoring the late Manitowoc Lincoln High School football coach is being moved to a Friday this year. Typically, the 5K event was held on Homecoming Saturday prior to the Lincoln Football game. However, this year according to Race Director Dave Nickels, the Run/Walk will be held this Friday night October 4th, starting and ending at Ron Rubick Athletic Field.
Runners and walkers can sign-up online by going to Active.com until 7:00 o’clock tonight. But, even after the on-line registration ends, interested participants can still sign-up in person tomorrow and Friday evening between the hours of 4-and-7pm, at Rubick Field. The entry fee is $25.00 and proceeds will go to the Lincoln Foundation, for items outside the school’s athletic budget.
Nickels says that the Homecoming Parade is scheduled to take place Friday night at 6:00, followed by the Run/Walk at 7:00. Both will follow the same route: Rubick Field to Lincoln High School, and back again. The Shipbuilders’ Homecoming game is Saturday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock against the De Pere Redbirds. The game will also be broadcast live on 980-WCUB and streaming live on cubradio.com, beginning at 12:45.
