September was a very wet month. Laura Lockwood, meteorologist in the St. Paul, Minnesota office of Weatherology, tells SeehaferNews.com, rainfall amounts in Wisconsin last month ranged all the way from 2 to 15 inches. She explained that south of La Crosse, they got into the 15 inch range, along with the Green Bay area.
Lockwood explains that this year is a little above average, with respect to statewide rainfall amounts due to a number of factors. She says that “In general it has to do with the upper levels flow pattern, along with El Nino and La Nina effects of the ocean.”
The meteorologist says trying to predict the amount of snow we’ll get this winter, this far out, is a “little bit of a guessing game.”
