Bail was set at $200 cash for a 33-year-old Manitowoc man charged over the weekend with Felony OWI Fourth Offense. Officers were called Sunday afternoon to the 2600 block of Lakeside Boulevard after witnesses reported a single vehicle crash. Upon arrival they found Zachary A. Kennedy, identified as the driver, off the roadway near some trees.
A female witness told officers that she saw a fast-moving vehicle on the road then heard it crash. She ran to his aid attempting to make contact with Kennedy-but he was unresponsive and collapsed over the steering wheel. He was taken Holy Family Memorial Hospital for treatment then transported to the County Jail.
Conditions of bail are that Kennedy maintain absolute sobriety, not be on any premises whose primary purpose is the sale of alcohol, not drive a vehicle without a valid driver’s license and report to MPD for photos and prints upon release. His initial appearance is scheduled for November 11th at 9:30.
