284 people showed up to Neshotah Beach in Two Rivers on a beautiful Saturday morning for the 8th Annual Walk/Run for Hope. The event was put on by Prevent Suicide Manitowoc County, and Donna Beath from the organization was very grateful for the many people and businesses that helped make the walk a huge success. She mentioned organizations such as Seehafer Broadcasting, Aurora Medical Center, Higher Grounds Coffee, who donated 10% of their proceeds to the organization, and Our Savior Lutheran out of Denmark, who were responsible for the Brat/Burger meal.
There was a bit of a last minute hiccup in the planning process. The DJ that was scheduled to fill the beach with music had to back out, but they were able to find a replacement. Donna was very thankful to Powerhouse Productions for their willingness to step up at the last minute to fill the void. “It was two days ago that they accepted the fact that they would play music for us,” Donna explained.
Donna estimates that there was between 50 and 75 different baskets and items available on the silent auction block, Including things like a Packer Ticket package, a signed packer football, and gift certificates for a wide variety of business in the area.
