A garage fire in Green Bay last night landed one individual in the hospital. Crews were called to a duplex in the 1300 block of Nelson Street at around 6:15 p.m. and were able to extinguish the blaze in a matter of minutes. Despite the quick response time, one person was burned and was taken to the hospital, after they attempted to put the fire out by themselves. A second individual suffered smoke inhalation, and was treated by EMS personnel at the scene. The cause of the fire is not known at this time, but what is clear is that it ignited in the garage. The four people living in the duplex will have to find another place to stay, as the fire caused around $60,000 in damage.
