#1 Wisconsin Women’s Hockey Opens Season at Lindenwood University

The defending N-C-A-A champion Wisconsin women’s hockey team opens the regular season with a weekend series at Lindenwood University.  The top-ranked Badgers play the Lions tonight and tomorrow afternoon in Maryland Heights, Missouri (Friday 6:10 P-M, Saturday 1 P-M).  Senior defenseman Mekenzie Steffen is the U-W captain this season.  The new head coach of Lindenwood is 1998 Olympic gold medalist Shelley Looney.  She scored the game-winning goal for the U-S in Nagano, Japan.
