
A Green Bay Firefighter was attacked by a man in the downtown area of the city yesterday morning. According to Police reports, a fire department lieutenant was near the intersection of Broadway and Dousman at around 10:40 AM, when he saw a man walking in traffic. When the lieutenant tried to get the man to move to the sidewalk, he became agitated. When the lieutenant called for police backup, the man lunged at him and began to hit him. Citizens that were driving by stopped to help subdue the man until officers arrived on the scene, and took him into custody. No names have been released at this time, and the lieutenant was treated at a local hospital and released.
