A spokesperson for the Ho-Chunk Nation says a casino proposal in Rockford, Illinois isn’t why plans for a casino Beloit are being delayed. Ryan Greendeer says the Bureau of Indian Affairs is taking a lot of time to examine the Beloit application. That application has been held at the federal level for more than 10 months. Greendeer says original plans were for a groundbreaking near the end of summer. Now, it may not happen this year.
