In nine major league seasons, he has an earned run average of more than five, but Jordan Lyles has emerged as the Brewers pitching ace. In 10 starts since late July, the right-hander has an E-R-A of two-point-35 — a figure bettered by only four National League pitchers who have thrown more than 50 innings. Last year the Brewers let him leave as a free agent. This year, reports indicate Milwaukee general manager David Stearns wants to sign him in the off-season. Lyles next start is set for Wednesday in Cincinnati, and Adrian Houser will start the first game of the series tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 5:40 PM, with pregame coverage on 1240 AM WOMT starting at 5:05 PM.
