Eric Thames launched a couple of home runs and Milwaukee pitchers were perfect until the seventh inning of a 4-3 victory over Pittsburgh. That gave the Brewers a sweep of the weekend series and moved them into a tie with Washington for the top wild-card position. Milwaukee owns the tie-breaker. The Brewers have won 10-of-12 since losing Christian Yelich and they are a major-league-leading 17-and-four in September. Trailing the Cardinals by three games, Milwaukee takes tonight (Monday) off then plays at Cincinnati starting Tuesday.
