South Rapids Rd. between Calumet Ave. and Meijer Lane is scheduled to be closed to traffic starting on Monday, September 30th.
The road closure is needed to accommodate the reconstruction of the street.
Vinton Construction will be the prime contractor for the project.
During the construction, southbound traffic on S. Rapids Rd. will be detoured onto Crawford Blvd., then proceed on Crawford Blvd. to Calumet Ave., and then westbound on Calumet Ave. back to S. Rapids Road. Northbound traffic on S. Rapids Rd. shall follow the same detour route. See the attached detour map.
It is anticipated that the project will be completed and the roadway reopened to traffic on or before November 8th.
The construction was originally scheduled to start Monday, September 23rd but was pushed back to September 30th.
