
Manitowoc has hired a new Community Development Director. Mayor Justin Nickels says the Council gave their approval this week to hire Adam Tegen. Mayor Nickels said that Tegen is currently serving in the same position in Wisconsin Rapids, and has been for the past 9 years. He will be moving here with his wife in the near future to take the position.
Nickels says the Community Development Director serves a very prominent role in the city’s success. Nickels said that “We want our Community Development Director to be very visible, especially in the business communities.”
The Mayor adds Tegen will also play a key role in further enhancing the downtown Which Nickels says is imperative in “keeping and drawing young professionals and families to work and live here”. He takes over for April Kroner who resigned this summer. His first day will be October 14th.
