Racine County DA Won’t File Charges Against Police Sergeant In Fatal Shooting

The decision by the Racine County district attorney wasn’t what Ty’Rese West’s family was wanting.  A Wednesday email revealed no criminal charges will be filed against Mount Pleasant Police Sergeant Eric Giese for shooting West to death.  It was determined Giese shot in self-defense.  The West family met with District Attorney Tricia Hanson while 300 people chanted outside the courthouse.  Protesters called for Hanson to be removed from office.
