Those who wish to volunteer but don’t know how or where to begin, the Manitowoc Public Library has just the thing. Thursday, September 19 from 11:00-2:00 p.m in the Balkanski Room, the Library will be hosting a Volunteer Resource Fair. Therese Horstkedder and Lisa Robertson from the Library explained that the purpose of the fair is to help people realize there are many opportunities to volunteer with a number of different organizations in Manitowoc. There will be 23 organizations on hand, allowing people to sign up to donate their time on the spot. If you don’t want to commit right away, you can take some information home with you, and contact them later. The Balkanski Room is on the second floor of the Library. InCourage is one of the lead sponsors of the event, and they hope this will help some people become more involved in the community, to help make it a better place.
