Brown County officials are looking at plans for building an addition to the courthouse to improve safety. The $1.9 million project would limit the courthouse to one secure entrance, much like other public buildings around the country. The addition is needed so people moving through the secure entrance and the metal detectors don’t have to stand outside in the rain or snow. If the full county board gives its approval, construction would take about a year-and-a-half.
