The names of the victim and the officer involved in the Fox Valley shooting last week have been released. 34-year-old Eduard Alexis Lopez-Ucles was driving erratically in Appleton when officers attempted to pull him over on September 3rd. Lopez-Ucles took off and lead the police on a chase into Kaukauna before he crashed his car. While officers were attempting to bring him into custody, Fox Valley Metro Police Officer Sam D. Pynenberg discharged his firearm, which struck Lopez, who later died from his injuries at a local hospital. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation continues to investigate the shooting.
