
In High School Cross-Country yesterday, Valders won the Boys division of the 22 school Kiel Invitational. The Vikings had 29 points and had 4 runners place among the top 10 finishers, led by individual champion, sophomore Shane Griepentrog, in 16-minutes-36-seconds. Coach Bill Dietrich said Clay Taylor was 3rd in the 5k race, Nate Griepentrog came in 4th and Josh Eben wound up 8th overall. Valders is ranked #1 in Division-2 in the Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Poll.
Manitowoc Lutheran was 3rd yesterday at Kiel with Nolan Winter of the Lancers finishing 10th, Two Rivers was 5th, Kiel 7th and Roncalli 10th. In the Girls race: Valders was 6th Avery Kauth paced the Vikings as the number 16 runner. The host Kiel Raiders won the title with Two Rivers 2nd, and Anna Gallagher was meet medalist. Lutheran was 7th and featured Brooklyn Luebke’s 3rd place finish. Reedsville ended up 8th and Roncalli 10th.
In Girls Volleyball, the Two Rivers Raiders sweep Kiel 3 games to none in an E-W-C match, while Chilton did-the-same to the Roncalli Jets.
