A Manitowoc woman has been taken into police custody after a very strange incident. Officers were called to the 1500 block of South 35th Street at around 5:30 yesterday morning on a report of a woman running in front of vehicles. When officers arrived, they saw the 33-year-old woman standing on a manhole cover in the middle of the road. They asked the woman to leave the roadway, but she claimed she was God and told officers that anyone “not with her was going to die.” Officers on the scene reported that she showed signs of drug impairment. The woman resisted when officers attempted to place her in handcuffs, but they were able to eventually place the cuffs on her. The woman was taken to Holy Family to be medically cleared, before being taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of Disorderly Conduct and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.
