Sheboygan Area Woman Presumed Dead after Boat Fire

SeehaferNews.com has learned this morning that a Sheboygan County native was aboard a Scuba boat that erupted in flames Monday off the Southern California coast.  41-year old Kristy Finstad, a 1996 graduate of Oostburg High School, is missing and presumed dead.  Finstad’s brother said she was leading the scuba tour when the boat caught fire.  The remains of 20-victims have been recovered but more than 30-people are presumed dead.  Kristy Finstad went to the University of Santa Barbara where she received a degree in Aquatic Biology.  She was a certified instructor who took over the family’s dive company.  It was Finstad’s company that chartered the afflicted boat.
