Even though state funding was pulled, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation plans to continue its campaign to recruit Midwestern millennials to the state. The W-E-D-C had asked for $10 million to pay for the program which started early last year. A spokesperson for Governor Evers says the funding wasn’t included in the current budget because Evers wants to focus on developing infrastructure and communities while trying to attract and retain a talented workforce. The W-E-D-C campaign focuses on workers between 21-and-35 who are trained in science, technology, health care and financial services.
