Law Enforcement has yet to find the perpetrator(s) who shot a bald eagle last December in Mishicot. Manitowoc County DNR Warden Alyssa Neff-Miller says the reward has increased from $3,950 to $5,000.
The shooting occurred December 7th off of Randolph Street. The eagle flew away and was spotted the next day at a nearby property and rescued by Wildlife Of Wisconsin. The bird was treated for its injuries but later died.
Shooting an eagle is a federal crime. Neff-Miller says the statute of limitation in a case like this is “quite lengthy” and if anyone has any information “please say something.” Call 1-800-TIP-WDNR or Manitowoc County Crime Stoppers at 683-4466.
