Brown County supervisors are worried about the annual costs of operating a juvenile detention facility if it is built in that county. A cost of 43-million dollars has been suggested. The center will be the new home for some of the inmates from Lincoln Hills and Copper Lakes when they close in 2021. Dane, Racine and Milwaukee counties are also in the running for some of the 80-million dollars in grant money which has been set aside. Brown County projects the operating costs at a little over seven-million dollars-a-year.
