Family Member Identifies Victim Of Sunday Night Shooting In Fitchburg

Law enforcement and school officials haven’t confirmed the information, but a family member says the 17-year-old shooting victim in Fitchburg Sunday night was Shay Watson.  He played football at Verona Area High School last year.  Investigators say they don’t think the shooting was a random act, suggesting Watson had been targeted.  An autopsy was completed Monday by the Dane County Medical Examiner.  The circumstances surrounding the shooting haven’t been released.
