The 5-day Manitowoc County Fair wrapped up on Sunday at the newly reconfigured Expo grounds. Expo manager and 2019 Fair spokesperson, Janelle Shelton said, “honestly, they couldn’t have asked for a better week…Since I’ve been here, and this is my 13th fair, I haven’t experienced every day where it’s beautiful sunshine and great weather. Honestly just a great weather week.”
As for total attendance, Shelton said “We’re looking at around over 41,000. I don’t have of all the final information because we do pre-sales and we have other people who are buying tickets prior to the County Fair like our exhibitors and such, but that’s what we’re looking at for this year. Approximately at that number. We are very, very pleased.”
The ‘biggest’ day at the County Fair was Saturday when they drew about 13,500 people and the Bull-Riding Show in front of the grandstand was especially well-received. Leading up to the Fair, there were questions about parking because of new construction on the site, but that was not an issue. “Our parking lots were completely full. Our new parking lot off of Crawford Blvd., that one was completely full. We had our overflow parking which was over at the office complex, that was full. The shuttle bus was running. Our main gate admissions was a great way to highlight and bring people into the county fair because they have such a great grand entrance now.
Janelle Shelton said the dates of the 2020 Manitowoc County Fair are August 26 through the 30th
